Doot doot doot, emailing Day Moment files he can use at work. This is a normal thing people do, right? Wake up, make files, and send them to themselves from the past so they can be More Useful in other contexts? I am peopleing very well these days.
Also, hello all you cute demipeople. I would like to snuggle you all in a consensually respectful way. Yes, that includes you. n.n
Right! Files are off, back to bed for an hour. Later! Night Moment shutting down. *clunk*
Ah. Ryegrass University has taken it upon itself to choose today to note I have not completed any courses in six semesters and, as such, am no longer even an ex-undergrad, but am now academically speaking nothing to them - no, less than nothing. Common. Unlettered. Subundergrad.
Methinks they feel a mite jilted, given the day. n.n
@Leucrotta ... May I give you a gentle hug? You sound like you might need it.
Mental health (+)
... $deity on a cartoon cracker, if I'd known I'd be this good on anticonvulsants I'd have started shutting parts of my brain down selectively years ago... Might have to stop drinking diet cola, though. Carbonated beverages burn a bit unpleasantly. (It's rewiring my taste profile and satiation settings, a known side effect.) I'm definitely less stressed at work - once again, I take the pills, and everybody else chills out, weird. XD
Subnautica
Re: unpleasantness - pleased they fired their troll/racist. Saddened they immediately wound up hit by a campaign to trash their rating on Steam - unsurprised, but saddened.
I have a routine developing - scout an area with a seamoth, drop beacons with descriptions of large mineral deposits, return with a cyclops and prawnsuit, harvest minerals, steam back home. Seems to be working - at least up to some level of scarcity.
I need to go deeper, but that's where the monsters live.
Mood (+)
A nice lunch out with a friend or two and I'm presented with evidence that - at least in some environments - I'm neither rude nor condescending. Work isn't interested in exploring how the behaviour of coworkers contributes to my stress, mores the shame.
I feel okay about things, though. Between meds and restructuring my workflow, this should be a solvable issue - and I'll be a better cog for it. A useful skill to acquire. n.n
Work (-), mental health (--)
I'm fucked. My efforts to come across as friendly and supportive have been interpreted as 'condescending'. The boss is joking about installing the doom beam in my basement so nobody has to deal with me ever again. When they blow off steam, it's 'funny'. When I blow off steam, it's 'hurtful'. Or 'frightening'.
Most probabilities lead to my termination, probably within the next seven months, if history repeats. And then the meds become unaffordable. And then. And then.
So I'm short about $300 between now and the 15th, thanks to an unexpected emergency. If you have some spare cash, I could really use your help.

Subnautica: real world consequences
Anyhow, my long roundabout way of saying I'll be cw'ing my experiences with Subnautica for the nonce, until the collective gamesphere decided if they're in a 'teachable moment' or 'Notch 2.0'. I hope it proves to be the former. Seems every small group has to learn the same leasons about toxic people and growth the hard way: I hope they do.
Maeanwhile, I've got growbeds of Deep Shrooms and Gel Sacks. Making a Prawnsuit with 7 torpedo bays. >:D
Subnautica: real world consequences
So I find myself giving the lead designer a pass: made a few mistakes of omission but has considered how they came across, accepted they messed up, and is trying to fix things. The sound designer, otoh, doubled down on their nastyness, invoked SJWs, and locked their twitter account: Them I could happily see roasted. Or let go, that'd be good.
I guess I'd like to see a game I like as having flawed designers who are trying to be better.
Subnautica: real world consequences
Sounds like the sound designer for the game is rotten all the way through, or sufficently dedicated to trolling as to be indistinguishable. The game lead also asked yeara ago if they should add a woman player model, or perfect the game: he's walked that back since and apologized for how that sounded, wishes they'd gone with a femme model rig to start, and that rig is default on the expansion they're working on now.
"What did the wolves howl?" Earth asked.
"Nothing," Moon said.
"But you blushed?"
"..they called me large, round, and beautiful."
"You are."

And all that you love and all that you hate
All you distrust, all you save
And all that you give and all that you deal
And all that you buy, beg, borrow or steal
And all you create and all you destroy
And all that you do and all that you say
And all that you eat and everyone you meet
And all that you slight and everyone you fight
And all that is now and all that is gone
And all that's to come and everything under the moon has its worth
But the moon is eclipsed by the Earth
