The flipside is also true. I bought a $500 car and sank $1200 into it, and ended up with something really REALLY nice because the original demographic for this machine were Worm Food.

Granted, that's a lotta money to consider. But having the freedom to fuck off to see friends a hundred fifty miles away is Very nice. Not optimal at all, but very little in this country is optimal.

The hack for all of this is to form charter homes for transgirls in major population centers. Rent is easy split six ways.

Yeah, makes sense Gateway would have an eccentric collection of AI critters running around maintaining/defending the place. Especially one who used to be a Bio being.'

@kelseyhusky You might really like the series, it deals with transhumanism in the later books and the technology to render human consciousness into a digital, living copy of that person that exists in gigabit space.
