re: ~

I'd rather they reached out to me, if it was still okay if I followed them. Even if that never happens...

I've learned that it's okay if you aren't friends with everybody, even if you wish you could be.

There are some people who I followed at some point, who have either moved onto new accounts or softblocked me so I wasn't following them.

Every time I see them mentioned in my home timeline, I think about refollowing or seeing if I'm still blocked, but then I realize it probably isn't worth the effort...

geocities.co.jp, the last living Geocities service, shuts down in 2020. Here's the timeline, as I understand it:

* March, 2019 - The ability to update existing pages and to create new pages ends.
* September 30, 2019 - All pages are taken offline. Site owners retain the ability to use FTP to download their site contents.
* March 31, 2000 - FTP access for downloading site contents is removed, and all data is deleted.

@Xkeeper @BatElite it would be even more than it actually is, but X spends half their time cracking terrible puns so I end up groaning instead of blushing >.>

reevaluate knowledge that seems obvious to you. make sure you have a really good grasp on why you're so certain of the things you're certain of. never stop asking questions. don't be afraid to ask the same question twice if you've forgotten the answer. and for fucksake, don't state opinions as facts

People often wonder why printers are so cantankerous but frankly any device that embeds pigmented runes in the remains of long-dead trees is going to be stricken by an ancient faerie curse from the start

dream, money, -

Financial security is really, like ... the only thing I haven't ever had in my life. My parents were fairly poor and always in debt when I was growing up, and I was thousands of dollars in debt starting when I was 17. I literally don't know what it is like being debt-free and having a surplus of money, or even just having enough money that you can do almost anything you wanted...

dream,~

I just had a dream where I had been given $40000 for some work I had posted online for free. I was in tears in my dream, and I woke up and realized it had made me cry in my sleep because my eyes were wet and stuck shut.

@karma Good luck! ^w^ 💖 I hope things go well for you!

The original code only used this centering function for displaying street names, but hopefully I can rework it so any arbitrary line of large text can be centered. We'll see... ^.^

@revenant Does VBox even support Win98? I thought it explicitly didn't support non-NT Windows for some reason...

Then again, I haven't actually used VBox for a few years, so they might have added support by now.

Okay, fixed that. (It was a string I had explicitly skipped before, because I didn't know where it was being used.)

Still lots of work to do before I can move on to something else...
