@monorail We've never used it, but would be interested in trying it.
@monorail The mathematical concept, the movie, or the chat program?
re: conlang (Tlueqto)
@lizardsquid Fair enough. Inventing relations between words would be helpful, though. I'd almost say that you need to invent a linguistic history to have a good conlang, but I suppose you could do without.
re: conlang (Tlueqto)
@lizardsquid There's actually some debate on that topic, I believe. Onomatopoeic words are a good counterexample, and some people think that there's some actual connection between sounds and traits. Have you heard of the bouba-kiki effect?
re: conlang (Tlueqto)
@lizardsquid There's the historical reason, and relations to other things. Arabic and other Semitic languages in particular are pretty explicit with that, with triliteral roots
re: slightly bigger hint
@monorail Then again, maybe I'm just mad I couldn't figure it out myself.
re: slightly bigger hint
@monorail That got me to the answer, but damn. That's one of the less well-designed puzzles in the game, I think. The exact meaning of stop ought to be demonstrated before this one, I think.
re: slightly bigger hint
@monorail It means it becomes an obstacle that nothing can move through, right? Or is there some nuance to it that I'm missing?
re: slightly bigger hint
@monorail I'm not really seeing it. The only possible sequence of sentences is Keke Is Push -> [Keke Is Up] -> Keke Is Skull, with the second step being optional but probably required or else they would give you the Up word.
I suppose it would have to be between Up and Skull when you change to Wall Is Stop, because otherwise there's no way to get rid of the old words to change anything.
Skull Is Up and Skull Is Push are technically also possible, but since you can't get skull entities without messing up the words' positioning you can't do anything with those as far as I can tell.
Positioning Keke so that when you turn them into a skull they move and swap the Is out will let you get Skull Is Up _after_ Keke Is Skull, but I don't see any use for that either.
re: slightly bigger hint
@monorail Well, I had to look at the bigger hint. Let's see what this gets me, because I certainly hadn't considered that possibility.
re: small hint
@monorail Ever? Hm. I was thinking you might have to try to get the word wall to move somehow, but I can't see how to do that without first moving a wall. I don't know if that's the right solution, though. I'm not going to open the bigger hint until I need it for sure, though.
re: your first hint, definite spoilers now
@monorail Aha! That was a rather interesting way to achieve it, but I got Level Is Flag. Now to explore this new place.
re: a hint for an optional task, if you want it
@monorail Orb Is Bonus, yes? I did discover Hide.
re: your first hint, definite spoilers now
@monorail Finding a way to get Level Is Flag seems like a straightforward thing to do, actually... Let me see if I can do that anywhere.
re: your first hint, definite spoilers now
@monorail Well, the overworld has a baba is you, but there's no way to actually do anything with it that I can see. I can destroy it, making baba not me, but then I don't have any ability to do anything else. I think? Let me look at that.
re: your first hint, definite spoilers now
@monorail I couldn't even hope to beat A Way Out? the first time I got access to it; there were too many unfamiliar words. So I've unlocked worlds up to the mountaintop and the chasm, and I have found the one secret level that you can get by using Level Is Baba--which, let me say, was quite an amusing twist to be able to do that! I'm not sure if that's what you consider the late game or not.
Potential Baba Is You spoilers
@monorail Well, right now I'm stuck on level Forest-E, Insulation. I have Keke Is Push, and straightforward ways to turn that into Keke Is Skull or Keke Is Up. I can't see what that gets me, though; a skull can swap a couple of tiles before another skull removes the word swap from that rule, but I can't see how to get through the wall using that.
@monorail Would you mind overmuch if I asked for a few? We've gotten to the end--beaten A Way Out?, anyway, which I assume is the end but there could be a secret extra part--but a few of the puzzles have me completely stumped.
