I'm still feeling pretty grumpy about some local stuff, but here's some candles being smashed by a hydraulic press because I still love you anyhow.

uspol, interpersonal, local
Honestly, though, I only walked away from the poltical fooferaw on Telegram today with a grudge against one person.
And that was not for pol so much as laying into a friend of mine just for trying to be gentle. It was someone I didn't really know prior to this, and now don't really plan to ever speak with, so it's just fine.
As for the rest of you wacky queer leftist funsters... just don't become Leninists or anything? Or Auntie Rez will disown you, probably after quoting full chapters of and/or smacking you on the noggin repeatedly with my copy of Behind the Urals, mmmkay? >_<
re: uspol, interpersonal, local
@zebratron2084 Honestly the two main things that bugged me the most about that entire conversation were ones that were said before I jumped in, and before Val left.
One was from the person mentioned, saying to Val basically "you're feeling conflicted, good, that means you're thinking about it", which is real fucking condescending, and the other was taking an MLK quote vastly out of context--where the context is 'civil rights movement as a whole'. :-/

@zebratron2084
I apologize for the MLK quote. I was incorrect yo feel it was appropriate to the conversation.
re: uspol, interpersonal, local
@Aradia @emanate @zebratron2084 For my part I intended "yell and break shit" as more metaphorical, and meaning something closer to "make a lot of trouble"... but that's about when the phone rang at work and I had to go troubleshoot with The Man for a couple hours. :(
re: uspol, interpersonal, local
@zebratron2084 @Aradia @emanate That means you have an excellent draconic example! Bitings are Important. n..n
More seriously, thank you, that means a lot to me to hear. I think things are getting more and more fraught as it gets harder and harder for folks to keep themselves afloat.
