Ugh cooking is annoying and takes forever.
It took me 30 min just to peel and mince my ginger and garlic.
What?
Garlic is heckin' easy to mince... but ginger is a pain to peel.
[I want to cook with everyone]
@ThatDamnCat @Sparrow same
@fillertrack @Sparrow @ThatDamnCat iron chef : mastodon but nobody competes and everyone just gets a good meal at the end
@modernmodron @fillertrack @Sparrow @ThatDamnCat @Ulfra_Wolfe Why not call it "Cooking with mastodon" or something not directly evoking a contest then?
@IrisKalmia @modernmodron @fillertrack @Sparrow @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town
Can we just cook mastodon?
I want to cook with people and for people, not against people.

Agreed! Non-competitive, happy, healthy cooking is a lovely idea. :3
Also, I can my "Mise en place" getting my "Mice in place", because I'm cute. :P
Also, my knives are packed up and my parent's are suuuuper dull.
Some things are worth the effort to dig out
Yeah, the garlic isn't so bad, but the ginger is a huge pain. Peeling it with a spoon works alright, but then I tried carefully slicing then mincing it... I did about 50% of it that way, before just going crazy on the rest. It's all "approximately" the same size.
@Sparrow yeah garlic and ginger are delicious buuuut terrible to prep
(nowadays i just buy bottled minced garlic and ginger in bulk)
I actually have the bulk garlic and ginger, I just forgot when I initially set up to do this recipe... and now I'm determined to see it through. xD
@Sparrow working through the recipe fills you with determination
It does! And I feel like I'm learning. Hopefully next time the prep won't take so long. (I finally started actually cooking, which should be a much faster process now that everything's in place)
@Sparrow Yes! Cooking is one of those things that gets easier and more delicious as you do it so it's like doubly awesome when you gain experience in it!
@somekindofcrow I hope so! I guess it's just like anything else, in that it becomes more fun with practice.
@Sparrow garlic is a hell to mince
