A note for anyone seeing this profile from my Twitter: I won't allow followers if I can't be sure who you are. I talk sometimes about personal things on here, and would rather keep that to people I trust.

As great as Mastodon's privacy settings are, they're still not up to scratch compared to Livejournal.

Last night I had another dream where the one distinct thing I remember is a phrase.

"The Journey has been commercialised."

The context implied to be, that adventure fiction has been refined into pure marketability by industries and that people should be making their own adventure story arcs again, untainted by the need to follow specific story beats.

re: hypnosis

@Nystre@blimps.xyz Hee! That's wonderful to hear. While all of my hypnosis experience has been over text online, I am familiar with feeling a sense of floating, and it's lovely...

@DarkOverord God, then we could get people off of Telegram. The ones that are only using/90% using Telegram.

I will never not be bitter about the real-phone-number nonsense, hahah.

The things you think are universal moral tenants, may in fact come from a personal place within.

re: Artist ramble, talking about others, a lil -

@DarkOverord @Thaminga Remember when FA *used* to actually show at a small size by default? Now it... doesn't? It's so weird that they would undo that.

There's probably a setting to turn it off, but for those without an account, it's weird that "full view" is the default now.

It's interesting how thought experiments about morality and "worth" don't have stipulations regarding fascism. And by interesting I mean it makes having exceptions get you interpreted as an asshole.

I've been playing The Talos Principle (after forgetting about it for ages) and some moral quandaries probably aren't think of "bad people" in terms of literal nazis.

In which I make myself a treat because I'm a responsible adult.

In the past, as an end-of-year celebration, I've made myself a pudding thing.

As it's the 31st here, I tried making myself some microwave pancakes/hotcakes.

Previously I've tried this in a mug-based form, where the pancake is a sort of muffin/pudding thing. This time I tried a method of pouring the batter onto non-stick paper, then putting paper on top of that, doing another, and so on.

What happened was the weight of each hotcake squished the one underneath.

Still good though.

@Hexizor Exactly! No imagination at all. It's like they *want* to be creepy mannequins.

I can't believe it's going to be 2019. It feels like 2018 both didn't happen, and also happened HARD.

Also where's our goddamn cyberpunk aesthetic and transhumanism already? Or maybe we should deal with the nationalism first, so it's less -punk and more cyber.

Okay I know we all want tails as soon as robot prosthetics are a thing, but isn't there a valid medical purpose they could have? Tails are for balance, after all.

I'm just saying that the research being put into prosthetics could maybe be encouraged to be a little experimental that way, if they think there's observable/functional benefit to it.

@eevee I've seen this sort of thing posted about before - a brightly lit dead of the night, and I will be forever baffled by it.

(Re)watching Serial Experiments Lain.
What a weird class.
