@Kye Squeak!
@ZenithTheReborn@tech.lgbt Yeah I feel that, I was about to quit my job and just stay at home but my wife convinced me to seek help for it. I am really glad she did, and she understood and cared.
Also the hearing aids I have you can do bluetooth streaming and the sound does actually get adjusted accordingly to your hearing settings. So expensive earbuds! Or you can do background music.
@ZenithTheReborn@tech.lgbt I feel that. Without my hearing aids everything is distorted and all wrong that when I put hearing aids on it is like HD hearing, very much night and day difference. Although I still have speech issues the hearing aids can adjust speech slightly, mine are on max level adjustment.
Only issue with that is sometimes you hear garbled voices from hearing aid since it thinks a sound is voice when not. But usually with random noise or non-voice.
@ZenithTheReborn@tech.lgbt Yeah definitely, hyperacusis is pretty rare and it is hard for others to understand it. But the lowered pain threshold is horrible. My hearing is just a giant mess with distortion and otherwise, my ear drums throbbing too, and recruitment in one of my ears.
Hearing aids are so expensive though and you have to find a empathetic audiologist for it.
@ZenithTheReborn@tech.lgbt Hyperacusis is super horrible! I cannot wear headphones as the frequencies cause me pain. Hearing aids were basically a life safer for me. These are plugs that block sound and also the volume through speaker is lowered.
I still have to be careful though, since although hearing aids improved things still have to be careful when I am without them.
If response was slow, was finding picture of hearing aids.
@ZenithTheReborn@tech.lgbt Same here, I go into complete darkness with not a shred of light and cover my ears with those ones you use at gun ranges. But smell is like the most strangest of strange changes, can range from fruity smell, burnt electronics, to fresh hay.
I have hyperacusis though so everything is already painfully loud which is why I have those to begin with, along with sound blocking hearing aids.
