My general critique is that Americans should be very leery to distrustful of drawing conclusions or extrapolating from results in a primary to a general election. Primaries, even high profile ones, have exceedingly small turn out compared to many elections. Most Americans, including very likely voters, are not really paying that much attention. This is also one of the many reasons polling for primaries is an utter failure.

It matters that candidates are being chosen.

However, isnt one of the tensions at least in part the fact that some mutants are a legitmate threat to everyone and they need to be dealt with? Or is that folded into the "respectability politics" conversation.

In very very broad strokes Marvel and DC do treat different powers differently. Marvel telepaths are by and large very confident in themselves and VERY lacking in humility *stares at jean gray* where as DC telepaths tend towards being more serene "know theyself" reads
