@WelshPixie Nice! I'm reminded of a craft we did as kids, covering a colored-pencil drawing completely with black crayon, then etching a design into the crayon. I always loved that; it will be fun to try it in Krita.

@noelle Also a huge problem in academia. Especially since even those instructors who teach online don't want to become more digitally literate than they have to. So they'll design interactions that work fine for _them_: on campus, with screaming-fast wide-open bandwidth, on leased high-end laptops that are refreshed every three years.
Even though they _know_ that nearly all our online students are rural and cash-strapped.

I finally learned how to install an app on #linux via compiling (configure, make install).
Then, thank gods above and below, I learned how to uninstall the same app (make uninstall).
Lazy toot: I'm considering the use of a Java-based app on my #linux machine. Is the antipathy toward Java mainly about it not being FOSS? Or is there more to it? Any search-terms I can Google or links I can chase to help me make a more informed decision?
I gather already that the maker strongly recommends Oracle Java for this than OpenJDK.
(This is a bibliographic ref mngr, so I'd really be investing time & energy for the long haul.)

@queertrashlord My favorite interactive-fiction podcast is Clash of the Type-ins. Another good #gameing cast is The Short Game (about short video games). Favorite "two cishet white guys talking about nothing" podcast is Roderick on the Line.

@even_more_damned_muteKi Once when I was watching after-school kids for the Y, I saw two boys duck "out of bounds" into some bushes. Turned out they were sharing a look at the newspaper lingerie-section, the kind where it's all pencil drawings, like just outlines with no shading or color.
