Pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our being at a week-long professional workshop requiring frequent daily social interactions with people we don't know well.

Idea: a social network that *requires* at least 2000 character posts.
The discourse slowly becomes old school postal correspondence.
People start building up an erudite vocabulary, studying yellowed missives from the 18th century for ideas.
Every post begins with "To Whom It May Concern" and ends with "Your Eternal Friend" and a half dozen postscripts.
We could call it Snail Mail

Oh, another tip for new Mastodon users. There is no global search, outside of users or hashtags. That means you can criticise and curse things using their true name without accidentally summoning a group of sealions.
