it’s fascinating to me how much different a game No Man’s Sky seems to be, depending almost entirely upon whether you complete the initial base building quest step then decide to stay, make it cool and work from there, or do the bare minimum and then fuck off into space for ever

(the ship I reached this planet on disappeared after salvaging another and loading a saved game, but I’m pretty sure that’s its shadow there on the ground???)
