• make sure they asked for it
• make sure they have a chance to understand it before you do it
• don’t you dare do it as a side effect of another presumed-benign operation

Splatoon 1’s single player feels… a lot more forgiving and consistent? Fewer “wait, what do I do now?” moments, and fewer instances of “ok now do this thing that doesn’t really work”
