@bunnyhero@octodon.social Since I noticed that Amoroq handles linkification separately - partly because it's not documented, partly because a Mastodon server has more information available to it to make these decisions than a client has. Why not feed that metadata to the client?

Something like the way Twitter handles media entities - indices marking the beginning and end in the text of a recognized handle, and metadata about what the display name and target URI (or target instance and target username?) are.

@bunnyhero@octodon.social Here we go: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/2012 It's not a part of the OStatus standard, it's a Mastodon specific thing. Gargron hasn't commented, but it appears that the format isn't specifically documented right now - whatever the core Mastodon Rails app does is canonical, and its API presumably doesn't return sufficient metadata to make the same decisions.

Rage of the Dragons itself never got a home port thanks to Evoga's ca 2002 bankruptcy. I'm not sure what its legal status was at that point, or who owned the rights.

Incidentally, that same Evoga website teases a sequel to Rage of the Dragons (their second game) sometime in 2007. Nothing more was ever seen or said than this one teaser image on their homepage. I'd love to know what they had plans. https://awoo.space/media/lwAg9MFPHP_I6OtYXzQ

It's also one of only two games made for Brezzasoft's Crystal System arcade hardware, which they intended to be a NeoGeo successor. Presumably those ambitions got cut short when Brezzasoft rejoined SNK Playmore. Evoga's next game was also a NeoGeo game rather than a Crystal System game, and co-developed with a different ex-SNK offshoot.
