Since @literorrery has been growing a sourdough starter too, I learned only recently that you can, in fact, make a starter just from ambient levels of yeast in the air--but that this largely only works in Seattle and San Francisco (at least on this coast), which explains why all the sourdough I've ever bought is labeled as from one of those two.
That's a neat fact thing that could be in a comic? :-}
@irisjaycomics @itsnero @emanate ALSO, BRIOCHE is the most decadent bread imaginable and making FRENCH TOAST with BRIOCHE is a SIN and you should TRY IT. =>.>=
@literorrery @emanate @itsnero @irisjaycomics be sure to drape a towel over your face while you eat it so the gods can't see who is committing such a sin
@literorrery I didn't get any email either. What is this list, and how do I join?
@Jssra To call it a "list" implies I successfully organized. I just have a massive list of email addresses to which I add over time. I can forward you the invite, certainly. What's your best email address? I'll forward it over when I get home.
@emanate @itsnero @irisjaycomics Sadly, Keet and I found that we're not up to the task of taking care of a starter properly right now, but I'm happy to share what we learned and the pitfalls we encountered.
Also, you're both totally invited to Bandaza 'cause I'm a derp and I bet I forgot to include you on the email list and that's totally my oversight 'cause I'm a dozen brands of disorganized and slowly and reluctantly clawing my way towards adulthood.
