Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

Does anyone else have the frustrating tendency of being so receptive other people's emotions that you're constantly questioning whether your feelings are actually.. well... your feelings?

@Roady_Dragonfae Yeeeeees. I used to have this /constantly/. Still do sometimes (I still vastly over-read body language and tone), but the only thing that ever dampened the feeling was starting on antianxiety meds.
Doesn't mean all of the effect was /just/ my anxiety, but it still helped.

@emanate I hear ya. I've found that taking CBD capsules helps a lot. It really sucks without it because I start feeling like my mind is being hijacked.

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@emanate In these particular times and situations I should also work on honing my psychic self defense as well.

@Roady_Dragonfae @emanate shielding definitely helped me (but also yeah i used to get this a lot and still sometimes do have my vulnerable moments)

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Oneironott @Roady_Dragonfae @emanate Definitely. I used to do a lot more with shielding, and I still should probably get back into that habit.
I've had /some/ good advice/practice in the past from a friend regarding stuff like that.

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Oneironott @emanate I would definitely appreciate any sound advice about different techniques. Working in customer service, I've had difficulty maintaining a positive shield over the course of a day.
