Nintendo friend code thing

@Oneironott I'll get back to you when I have a Nintendo. :-P

re: selfie, eye contact, hair coloring in progress

@rey This'll be me on Friday, finally. :-}

Storytime! Includes shouting, violence references

@Leucrotta Yikes, that would be scary, at least the first few times.

Also, yay for Fingertips! That is /exactly/ what those were made for. :-D

@kauko With some spooky skeletal synth hands playing the piano in the background? :-P

@Soreth I just started playing Origins, and it's real good to be the bird. :-)

@Aradia @LeDiva I'm actually impressed, they got to use real band names. :-D

I know the original really well, and I wasn't born in the 30s!

re: Lynchmob discourse grumbles

@Kyresti That sort of stuff really gets to me, too.

I'm thankful that at least in my usual timeline, I don't actually see any of that.

@Leucrotta I think there's several taco trucks where that applies, actually.
There's also a fixed-location taqueria in Shoreline you might like called Taqueria El Sabor. :-}

doomsday rant

@Leucrotta Yeah, there's definitely that worry, too. :-/

doomsday rant

@Leucrotta It didn't hang over my head as much, but I grew up in a town which has a national laboratory. It does high energy physics, lasers, and supercomputing--and also helped run numbers for nuclear bomb design.
Once I was aware of the cold war, I knew it was likely to be a target, if the nukes starting dropping.

Of course now I'm in Seattle, and about 1/4th of the nation's entire nuclear arsenal is at a base 20 miles away. :-/

@Austin_Dern You have no idea how much almost everything else in the house was conservative Christian stuff. Ours was not a typical household, so I'm even more surprised we had that book. :-P

@Austin_Dern @zebratron2084 I also had younger siblings so I got to see much more Sesame Street than most kids, and I remember all the classic stuff that was late 70s early 80s. That stuff was good and occasionally also weird and subversive. :-D

@Austin_Dern @zebratron2084

I have to wonder if my parents weren't hippy-leaning at some point. We had the book Free To Be You And Me (and I still have it), watched the movie version, and had the Family version too, on vinyl record.
They were the most subversive things in the house, and I still wonder how it flew under my mom's "new age is satanic" radar.
But I'm happy to have had them, because it definitely helped shape my young mind in better directions than heavy religion.

@Draekos I just got on Google Fi myself. I got the budget option, the Moto G6, but it doesn't have an especially good camera.

re: Kyresti plays Astroneer (spoiler potential)

@Kyresti @starkatt

And the planet you start on is just /one/ planet out of... 6? 7? They maybe added more to the system.
All of which are reacheable and you can land on, all of which have different distributions of resources, and--now that there's the alien artifacts--all of which might have their own artifacts? Not sure on that last one, haven't gotten far enough into this version.
