"postfurry", wrap-up of postmortem
@kara@occult.camp fwiw, I never identified as "postfurry"--of course, I never identified as "furry" to begin with; at best, I've always been just "furry-adjacent." but as soon as I learned what the concept of "otherkin" meant, I knew--that was me.
I think I had a *huge* advantage in some ways by coming from alt.fan.dragons instead of alt.fan.furry, which I've talked about in various places but I'm not sure if I've discussed with you. if not, let me know! :)
@DialMforMara that sounds like the setup for a joke, but I don't know the punchline either. XD
there's a thread elsewhere that is--making me grind my teeth, but I can't figure out any way of addressing the issue without going immediately into sharp-tooth-and-claw snarling, and I know from experience and context that will *not* work. despite the fact that it is PART OF THE PROBLEM BEING DISCUSSED. uuuugggggghhhhhh
and no I'm not going to point it out. :P
Ready Player One podcast and (not scintillatingly positive) thoughts, oh and spoilers woo
@JulieSqveakaroo nope, if he fails he will be consigned to an even worse fate: BEING CALLED DEROGATORY NAMES. like "loser" and "nerd" and stuff.
..... yeah my interest in this scenario is pretty much zero. XD
low key star wars spoiler, disappointment
@vahnj *yes*. disappoint. :(
caps
@lizardsquid aw, I am mildly jealous! we had a little bit of snow here a while back, but it didn't stick, and it's always a gamble whether we're going to get maybe a light dusting, none at all, or A WEEK-LONG BLIZZARD, y'know? XD
low key star wars spoiler, disappointment
@vahnj i know, that was very disappointing. and while Rose is an awesome character, it feels... not great that it looks like they're sticking Finn in a hetero relationship there. :/ it's like they made the universe more diverse in pretty much every way except queer.
@forestservice yeah, the people that work (many volunteers) at food banks tend to be very nice and positive folks. :]
dreams, being somebody else's nightmare
I usually enjoy playing the part of somebody else's nightmare more than that. it was kind of fun, but also kind of disturbing.
dreams, being somebody else's nightmare
like the CN says, sometimes I'd swear my dreams are drop-casting me into some poor schmuck's nightmares. probably not the same person every time. this one was... I was half-lucid, aware that I could control the dream but not quite aware that it was a dream, and I was... cruel to a family whose home I invaded. :| I don't know which one of them was the protagonist in the dream, though I can guess.
@Leucrotta yeah, I kept thinking "okay this is the climactic end sequence! no... okay *this* is where they're gonna end it!..... NOPE"
Ready Player One podcast and (not scintillatingly positive) thoughts, oh and spoilers woo
@JulieSqveakaroo it's a movie about a game show, where an encyclopedic memorization of trivia from 80s pop culture can win you (or rather, the pasty nerd kid main character) trillions of dollars in a horrible post-apocalypse dystopia. DOESN'T THAT JUST PIQUE ALL YOUR INTERESTS.
