Trying to figure out how Mastodon works. Is there a way to identify like-minded folks? Sourdough baker, gardener, orchardist, dog lover, sarcoma survivor, neurodivergent / Aspergers, gay man in honest and open marriage.

capitalism, errands, food

okay--time to go do a last bit of grocery-buying before returning the rental car. also I'VE HAD COFFEE so I'm maybe a bit more hyper than usual (if by "a bit" you mean "all of it").

@anthracite I wish them much luck on their island, and am glad there are no land bridges or regular ferries. ^____^

sudden burst of nostalgia

I had one of these as a kid and I *adored* it. carted it around, played with it constantly... it was so simple and silly, but it was a very good friend to small me. awoo.space/media/gIGVDuxf4BIcg

request for donations

We're struggling to afford groceries for the whole week, any donations (even very small ones) would be greatly appreciated

ko-fi.com/charlotte (my partner's kofi)

kink, plurality, being a toy

@senemura@occult.camp you're a good toy! ;)

birdsite

I don't doubt that your snide remark, your screencapped dunk, your quote tweet, whatever, is totally earnest, from a good place, or whatever you say, like, I don't doubt that.

It's not about the behavior of exactly one actor (like say, you), but the systemic effect of all of these people all doing something at once.

It's weirdly violent, and neither the participants nor the target benefit from it. It's just _designed_ to suck the life out your eyeballs and that's it. So, cool it.

how dare a band instruct me to imagine dragons. I was browsing deviantart in the early '00s, I can't STOP imagining dragons

Travel, security theater

@Jssra @Jssra yeah, I first encountered that last Septemberish--not on the way out, but on the way home, so I was completely unprepared for the "REMOVE ALL FOOD ITEMS AND PUT THEM IN A SEPARATE BIN" bullshit. for someone who has a gluten allergy, *needs* protein every couple of hours, and is going on a ten-hour flight... there were a lot of food items. :|

hoem from Costco; need to feed myself (probably bean & cheese quesadillas), then will probably go out again, to a different store, to get not-Costco-sized foods. and a gas station to replace the quarter-tank of gas I've used before returning the rental car. XD

@Ucalegon can't--the sausages are ok iirc, but the buns are all fulla gluten. :P only things I can have from the food court are the yogurt and sodas, and I didn't want either today.

@Jssra sending you warm goodthoughts to go along with you, hon.

Maybe I'll have more luck if I toot this during the day?

I'm looking for info about asexual dating sites and/or apps. Has anyone used those? Are they any good? I'm thinking about trying to date again in the future & otherwise have no clue where to start.

"Wait, I missed it," he says, "show me again."
I sigh inwardly, but do as he asks. Hands so, interleave fingers in fabric of reality, twist so and so. Time stops. He stares, frozen. Idiot. You can't see it, time's stopped. I stick a pretzel in his nose and release the flow.
"Ow!"
