okay I'm dressed, now gonna get foods and then go out the door no really HUP HERE I GO so see y'all later bye awoo

@vahnj @guerrillarain@witches.town any sufficiently complicated program is indistinguishable from raw chaos. :P

@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town I think the Truce is more about... coming to terms with things within oneself, rather than making peace with enemies, in these circumstances, because seriously screw them. :| *gentle hugs*

@guerrillarain@witches.town yeah, I remember you following me a long time back. hey @vahnj, have you heard of stuff like this happening?

@AdalwinAmillion probably something along the lines of "there is no reward to avoiding work, and delay leads to decay." in fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was something along exactly those lines in the Book of the Dead. :P

ugh okay no really. time to ingest some protein food, put clothes on, and GOOOOO OUUUUTTT if I'm gonna. :| *incoherent flailing*

@AdalwinAmillion I'm trying to motivate myself to get my stuff together so I can go to the store(s) today. hup! *sits at desk, scrolls through Mastodon* >___>

@zebratron2084 @guerrillarain@witches.town yes you have! ancient Greek poetry slam fights are *wonderful*.

people have always been people, as crude, brilliant, creative, terrible, and amazing as they are now, just with different toolsets. XD

@zebratron2084 @guerrillarain@witches.town or like how the prehistoric (they didn't have writing) Moche culture of Peru made clay figures of *everything*, including giving birth and sex, and later Mayan and Aztec nobility *collected* these figures, especially the ones showing sex acts.

@guerrillarain@witches.town @zebratron2084 I watched a documentary about reconstructing Roman daily life from the ruins in Pompeii, and they had a whole bit about "these people put literal porn LITERALLY EVERYWHERE, check out some of this WACKY KINKY PORN." also some of the bathhouse graffiti is *exactly* like what you'd find nowdays: "Andronicus is a slut!" "Down with Agustus!" "Maximillian was here (and got laid)!"

"What do you mean, you've never been to Alpha Centauri? Oh for heaven's sake, mankind, it's only four light years away, you know! No, I'm sorry, but if you can't be bothered to take an interest in local affairs that's your own lookout. Energize the demolition beam.

I don't know, apathetic bloody planet, I've got no sympathy at all."

@guerrillarain@witches.town @zebratron2084 except that it really is! just... people don't want to believe it, they'd rather have the easy shit of unicorns and fairies instead of *thinking*. ugh but this is not new, people have been doing the same thing since literally forever. by the third kingdom, the ancient Egyptians had forgotten how to build pyramids and they told Greek tourists that the pyramids of Giza were literally built by their gods. *sighs* *shrugs*

@guerrillarain@witches.town @zebratron2084 I swear to ghu, this is the kind of shit that makes Carl Sagan spin in his grave. >___< there's never any lack of people who will watch a metric asston of "how the aliens built everything!" "documentaries" but if you try to show them a "how ancient people ACTUALLY BUILT SHIT, LOOK HERE'S RESEARCH AND EXAMPLES" documentary they get *booored*. uuuggggghhhhh

and some days I feel like a Vogon about to destroy Earth.

"There's no point in acting all surprised about it! All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years, so you've had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaints, and it's far too late to start making a fuss about it now."

@guerrillarain@witches.town it's *extremely* racist. especially when there's abundant evidence of *how* ancient people did these things, that their civilizations and achievements were far more advanced that "ooh but aliens" assholes want to give. (I rant about pyramids and Aztec "spaceships" a lot, lol)

@BertL I feel like I'm birdbragging, lol! XD there's a big stretch of untended greenspace, mostly trees, behind our building, and a large pond, so we get ducks--mostly mallards of course, but also some buffleheads and other assorted hard-to-identify probably mallard hybrids, and the occasional kingfisher. also this spring there were three Cooper's hawks raised back there. the barred owls are *everywhere* in Seattle, it seems like, and *aggressively cranky* this time of year...
