@JulieSqveakaroo @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @Kyna iirc there is a canonical answer to this and it's depressingly cissexist-patriarchal. otoh it has never been discussed in the movies which are the primary canon so I continue to believe they are robot-gendered, which means it generally doesn't matter unless they want it to, and then they download gender-ish software. other bots can tell, but they don't talk to icky squishy meatbags about it. also, they have a *lot* more genders than the meatbags do...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Mastodon discussions. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the discussions will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Gargron’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths
