food delivery deliberations
@mawr yeah, I went with PuffChang's. XD
@adeptomega @Leucrotta it's really bad when the GM is the one exhibiting Sloth. "Okay, everybody make a save..." *wanders off to look at Facebook for a while* "okay, so you're in a room, and--"
"what about the saves we made???"
"oh right, who got below a 15? you're dead. now, you're in a room..."
@janellecshane the whole tea thing, the tea itself and the ceremonies and the ornamental tea sets... it's such a fantastic constellation of little details that give a wonderful depth to the worldbuilding. I also love how the default gender is female, so I still don't know what "actual gender" most of the main characters are, and I love how much it doesn't matter!
volunteeering report: feeder mice and bird handling
@kel@witches.town we are not allowed to pet them; we're discouraged from looking at them directly (unless necessary) or talking to them, which can cause health problems from stress, or acclimation to humans, which has its own health problems. but yes I got to pet them, sort of. :D
oh and I forgot I got to see a barred owl being weighed! and then was given a rat and mantling and hissing and beak-clacking over the rat because HUNGRY YOU NO TAKE FOOD.
@mawr LOL yeah I can see how that'd be a problem! XD
Asexual Polyamory Complications [3/3]
@mawr both of them being in California makes things easier in some ways; less immediate hard feelings, more "everybody's going on with their own lives, but still generally well-disposed to each other."
Asexual Polyamory Complications [3/3]
@mawr *coughcough* yeeaaaaahhhhh... I'm right there too, though I have to admit I've let my relationship with the Jackal taper off to silence. Pink still sends me cards--she sent an Xmas card letting me know her new address, and I'd like to keep in touch with her. both of them use Faceblargh pretty much exclusively for online social interactions, which is... unfortunate. :|

aside from that, things were the usual winter dull... no really, I can't think of anything else to write about, just cleaning up assorted animal poops and getting mildly frustrated at co-volunteers not marking the tasks they're taking on the whiteboard like they're supposed to. XD
and now I am home and Nar wants ALL THE ATTENTION. <3

when you see them at that distance, rock pigeons and band-tailed pigeons look *distinctly* different, which was neat to see. also, since I was holding them wrapped up in pillowcases like bird burritos, I wasn't bitten, though the person doing the tube-feeding and medication-giving was pecked and nipped a couple of times. and one of the gulls made a spirited attempt to get at me anyway, which is as usual *good*.
volunteeering report: feeder mice and bird handling
I was not the only volunteer today, but I was one of only three. despite immediately tagging myself for mouse tank cleaning and the usual nursery/ward duty, I was also asked to assist with "meds and tubings" in the ward, which consists of catching and holding birds while they have various things poured into their gullets. my first time actually handling the birds!
I held a crow, two gulls, a flicker, two rock pigeons, and a band-tailed pigeon.
