me: he cats it up to 11. Nar... cats at about a 2.5.
Spouse: on a good day. I've seen him go as low as -2.

I should make some tea, feed the cats, scoop their boxes, and think about sleep soonish so I don't sleep until 10:30 tomorrow. :P

the latest episode, "Majority Rules," was--a very familiar, well-worn SF theme, but I found it unsettling. I keep being surprised by how good the show is.

so... that was a thing, and now I guess I'm done with that, so... back to Sims! :D

I ended up leaving the game running while I went afk to have dinner. by the time I came back I'd gone from having explored 0.0000000(etc)% of the universe to having paperclipped it *all*, and the "Drifters" contacted me. I feel like I missed most of the interesting transitions in the game by letting it run while afk, but there's no way I could have sat through watching it run all the way through.

went to the birb store today (nothing to do with BirbSite) and got a hummingbirb feeder with a new stick to hang it on (we don't have an overhanging porch roof), two squares of capsaicin-loaded suet (to feed birbs [who aren't affected by capsaicin] while deterring squirrels [who are]), and a small handful of caramels (for me [with no capsaicin]). tomorrow I will install the hummingbirb feeder. the spicy suet will have to wait until the one currently out there is gone. then--look out, squirrels!

I've launched 3k probes, there isn't an option to launch more than one at a time and hitting that button over and over is annoying, and I still haven't explored a meaningful fraction of the universe. my memory is 300, I have over a million Yomi... when does something else interesting happen? :|

for some reason, in this weather I keep expecting to see coyotes every time I look out the window. "trash wolves in the fog" keeps running through my head...

just remembered (finally) that part of what I dreamed was trying to catch a *really big* bright green praying mantis that was skittering around loose. I wasn't afraid of it, although I knew it would hurt if it pinched/bit me, but also that despite its size (nearly as long as my forearm) it was still relatively fragile, so I had to be careful in catching it. I tossed a towel/cloth over it, and it made angry chittering/rattling noises as I put it in a shoebox.
