whole industries can't wrap their head around "people are broke" because that would upset the whole model. first it would stop dead the whole "infinite growth" idea, secondly it brings up the uncomfortable notion that they'd need to pay their own employees more.

So the bad news I had been expecting regarding a possible job pretty much came down today and I just couldn't hide my disappointment on the phone. Worried that might hurt my future prospects with that company? But also, I was SO CLOSE. It really hurts to lose this one.
I really missed the moral center/consigliere Hank, who advocated passionately for Xavier's dream and whose silly, irrepressible humor hid deeply conflicted feelings about his mutation. I hope we get that back in X-Force this October.
Under Bendis, Hank:
+ Broke the multiverse beyond repair bringing the O5 into the modern timeline
+ Was told by the WATCHER he was pathetic and miserable.
+ Had an 'intervention' from the other X-Men that caused him to use all the throwing wine
+ Succumbed to the Black Vortex.
It's sad because Morrisson did wonderful work with him, and he's been written quite well by Hickman (New Avengers) and Rick Remender (Secret Avengers) before. But for some reason Bendis had a hate-on for Hank that sunk him ever since he took over.
Beast is going to be a part of X-Force after Hickman ushers in the new age of X-Men, hooray! I'm *really* hoping this will serve as a strong character rehabilitation after Bendis pretty much trashed the character and made him a petty, stupid asshole. :/
