Updating: And I've got a phone screen tomorrow. The company isn't horrible as far as I can tell, and i'm talking directly to them instead of through a contracting agency, so improvement!

Still wish I didn't feel like such a fraud sometimes, though. Been in this game for 10 years, never lost a job because of lack of technical skills, but it's always my tech abilities that give me the most anxiety, not the social part that always bites me in the ass.

Updating: Apparently the universe was bored with my pity party and let me get 1 single reply email asking for my availablity for a phone screen with a technical recruiter. So, I got that going for me.

Not looking forward to all the anxiety about getting rejected after the phone screen, but at least i'll have something new to bitch about.

Rejection is preferable to being ignored. I haven't gotten anything back except automated responses. For positions that I know i'd be a good match for. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong so that I get stuffed into a waiting pool. I'd rather get told I got tossed into the trash, cause then I'd at least get validation on my self-hatred.

Which I know is a shitty thing to do to myself.

CGP Grey recently released a very awesome video animation that is an adaptation of Nick Bostrom's "Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant" I watched it last night.

I was surprised when I went looking for more information that instead of it being about the destructiveness of capitalism, apparently, the passage is supposed to be about death.

There's just this huskybot who feels alone in her circuits sometimes who catches the back-scatter of lots of other signals being broadcasted but can't integrate the data.

I feel like a fraud when people talk about their woo. Because it seems so damn cool and intriguing and it's something everyone around me is super excited about, especially people i admire and want to get closer too. Neptunians and alchemists and pagans and explorers of every shape size and density all seem to have this part of their minds that is super important to them and that i know is perfectly valid and useful and in no way is causing harm to them or to anyone else that I can see.

0: Cop was realatively chill. Gave me a small-sized hard time and threatened me with a ticket if I don't get the shuttle registered in a week

Can I just say that "culture fit" is the most cowardly bullshit reason for firing someone? There are plenty of people that are really assholes to work with, that make life hell for other employees, are bad at their jobs, and damage morale by being human trash fires, but they get to keep their employment because they are hired directly, while contractors are treated like disposable interchangeable human-shaped capital resources.

2nd time having the same dream, crawling through a sewer that is on the second level of my parent's house to take Anakin Skywalker's ring of power and bring it to Yoda. I get interrupted by Bilbo Baggins, who is also trying to steal the ring before he gets thrown through a wall and I have a lightsaber fight with Anakin, where his lightsaber keeps switching between red and blue before I cut off both his hands. And take the ring of power for myself.

I'd like to stream/share a block of cartoons once a week, an episode at a time for each show. Is there a way to automate that kind of scheduling, or do I just need to manually build a playlist each night before?
