The new rules specifically ban real life depictions of sexual organs in a sexual context, and any graphic depiction of a sex act.

Other NSFW stuff is still allowed. Fetishes are still allowed. Erotica is still allowed. Nude fanart of the Onceler is still allowed.

Tumblr also in September introduced new rules that made expressing anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments on the site a bannable offense. I doubt their intentions are malicious here.

Why bother continuing that huge sunk effort and sunk cost, to continue supporting something that isn't even a major component of the site, when you can just… not?

Hashtag unpopular opinion, but I think Tumblr’s policy change is sensible given the circumstances.

They currently spend a fuckton of resources hosting pornographic content whilst trying to shield it from minors and search engines, and complying with the regional laws of hundreds of countries, and the rules of various online marketplaces.

They probably have a whole team of people whose entire job is to look through images of the most disgusting, depraved stuff to make sure it's not child porn.

Judging from some of the responses to Tumblr's new "no porn" policy I'm guessing I was the only person on Earth who didn't use the site for porn.

I'd like to go to north Yorkshire; York, Carlisle, the like. I went there a bunch of times when I was young, but less so after entering my teens and moving further south.

Oh wait I did go to London for two days. Guess there was that.

I should travel more next year, I think. I don't think I've left the south west England/south Wales area since literally last Christmas! D:

My dashboard project is going pretty nicely. Still always more to add, though!

Mastodon is always so quiet at this time of day. D:

Holy hell the Mastodon API is way easier to use than the Twitter one. And it does streaming!

As it happens, the latter function is exactly what I need right now. Guess I'll write it myself!

jQuery has a function that will search for a selector starting with the currently selected element and goes up the element tree (closest), but doesn't have one that starts with the current element and goes down the element tree. Seems like a weird inconsistency.

UK economy will suffer significantly in all Brexit scenarios, government report finds. theguardian.com/politics/2018/

Sounds like a very, very good reason to not do it at all, eh?

Granted a lot of that is due to architectural changes, a different tech stack, and also four years more knowledge of how to do this shit.

I've started re-making my final year university project for my own personal use and I've done as much in two hours than I did in like three months of university.

I just spent like 10 minutes standing up and the Apple Watch didn't give me my standing point. I feel cheated.

Reading Wikipedia and being confused cause I don't remember an omnipotent space being played by William Shatner appearing in 30 Rock.

Turns out 3rd Rock from the Sun ≠ 30 Rock, stupid brain reading circuit.
