Fake antifa?
@drwho That... that sounds off to me. I would ask questions.

@Goldkin *envy*
@mawr Migraine, on-and-off nausea all day.
Settled in for Great British Bake-Off Masterclass. Watching professional chefs flirt while they cook is my ASMR.
I've been watching Disjointed with Keet and Adept, and I woke up this morning feeling ill enough that I said to myself, "I just think I'm going to stay home and watch Dank and Dabby videos."
And then I realized, that means I've graduated to a sufficient level of stonerdom that since I'm too sick to get high, I'm going to watch other people do it.
Bodies
Migraine has faded to a dull ache. Not gone. Just not throbbing like a bass riff inside my head.
@mawr ... hunh.

#Shordurpersav: The the two utterly normal looking guys -- plaid shirt, sport coat -- on the convention center platform making out and discussing dinner plans.

@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space All that said, it's also worth stating that I'm a Cascadian separatist at heart, and I'm not really interested in "reconciling" with conservatives, any more than I would be interested in reconciling with the assholes in my extended family. They don't want us here. I'm keen to leave and take my tax dollars with me.
politics
@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space About the only thing I disagree with in any of that is your assessment of the liberal establishment as "as bad as the conservatives." They are bad, to be sure, but there's a beer-versus-heroin harm analysis. Maybe weed-versus-heroin. Point being, it's a false equivalence to indict them equally.
politics
@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space Denier? No. Unwitting advocate and accomplice? Yes. I think there's a straight line to be drawn between conservativism as a political and economic philosophy, and bigotry. I think that connection is fairly obvious and unambiguous, and I don't feel it's my obligation to explain and explore that with you beyond making you aware of it. If you identify as conservative, that's your prerogative. My position remains.
politics
@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space I was taking a leap ahead in the discussion to the point at which equating conservatives and abusers -- both forms of victim-blaming relying on an unstated and unacknowledged power imbalance -- got challenged and we inevitably questioned whether both sides were equally at fault in our inability to get along with people on "the other side."
politics
@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space And again, I think that the concepts of institutional bigotry are inherent in the formulation of conservativism as a political ideology, and to fail to call that fact out is to do everyone suffering as a result of those policies a gross moral injustice.
It isn't on us to seek dialogue with our abusers; let them put down their arms first.
