Family Transphobia [1/3]

I found out from my little sister yesterday that my sister in Minneapolis is getting married in a 2 months... and I'm not invited.

The reason appears to be her son (my nephew), who, upon hearing about my transition 12 years ago, told her that he never wanted to see or speak to me again. She asked that I respect his wishes and is now choosing not to invite me as a result of them.

I'm finally starting to acclimatize to Seattle weather. It's like 66ºF (18ºC) outside and I'm wearing a long sleeve blouse and sitting in the shade and not freezing???

...Might be the weight I've gained >..>;

Hey is there anyone in the Seattle area who wants to go down to see the Eclipse?

I'm thinking of trying to drive it, and figured the more we group together, the less cars will be on the road, right?

I've got 3 empty seats in my car.

a garage is full of weirdos ranging from 11 to sixty-some years old standing around listening intently as another of the weirdos explains how the new floppy drive in his hand manages to fit over a megabyte on each disk. he cites sector layout diagrams, points out some of the bits of engineering he appreciates the most, and then connects it to an open box of computer parts on the table and flips a large red switch. a cheer erupts as the drive shows signs of life before the CRT has even warmed up.

I take so many of the comforts in my life for granted, and today I want to at the very least acknowledge that.

politics, nazis, bemused

There's a really small part of me that would be happy to see the anti-protest laws put into place in all the red states, so when the anarcho-socialist revolution comes, the police are required to beat back the protesting fascists by their own stupid laws.

I know that's bad, but It's something of a silver lining at least. X3

"It's a beautiful day in Seattle," they said while staring out the window from the living room where they've been drinking mimosas and playing Splat2n.

@mawr I think the better question is why random bystanders keep vanishing and being replaced with 1:1 replica plushies

Racism and Racial Pride

I've been thinking about the racial pride argument that circles of racists-in-denial like to make.

If a black person has "black pride," they are commendable.
If a white person has "white pride," they are a bigot.

Why? Because being black in a country like the US puts you at a disadvantage due to systemic (and sometimes blatant) racism. Being proud of being black is being proud of your ability to overcome that which white folks are granted by default.
