Dealing with Internalised Ablism
Standing up and asserting your rights/needs as valid, and not backing down from that, is a really quick way of getting institutionally branded as Unreasonable, because..
All the self-love in the world can't convince the people in charge to take us seriously, and arguing with them just gets all this.. Ablist poison seeped back into our system that we gotta process on top of all the conflict. It's.. Exhausting.
Dealing with Internalised Ablism
Trying to remind myself that my needs are not unreasonable because they don't fit abled expectations, that I'm not 'overreacting' to stimuli when I get sensory overloads, that I can't just brute-force through it. -.-
I wish I could, but.. It doesn't work that way. I wish I could convince anyone in abled society to actually help me or believe me. But.. The ones with power all act like I'm just overreacting.. Others seem to genuinely empathise but can't help.

First attempt at a back flange for this jacket toile. Happy with how this turned out, doubly so given I couldn't find a tutorial for how to do one and had to wing it. Think I'll add a bit of length, but it depends on how I take in/out the rest of the garment during fitting (a few last stitches to make, some basic-cheap interfacing to give approximate shape for fitting, etc)
But the principle is sound and dang it looks suave even if the rest of the toile isn't finished yet.
