re: [NHS, Therapy, - + !?]
I.. Words have failed me by this point
(To be fair, no one even told me "Go be a zebra" was an option, so I'm still reeling from losing out)
As always, Talking Heads have my back on this one.

So, Evolutionary Psychology: Still about as firmly grounded in actual science as you'd expect.

..Oh. Evopsych. ..That always bodes well.
And we plunge headlong down the rabbit-hole at about this point.
[NHS, Therapy, - + !?]
Holy hell
I'm trying, really, really hard to read up on the local NHS's uh, favourite therapy, without immediately slipping into snark mode, as I tend to quite easily.
Around here this brand is a super common recommendation from NHS psychs. It's got some serious funding pull (local bloke, so no mystery).
But.. Outside of the immediate region, I just get blank looks from people when I ask about it. So. Why not see for myself?
I was a fool. I have regrets.
There's only so much snark one bat can contain, we're in full-on "Pepsi Gravitational Field" country.
And if you think that's hyperbole then buckle the heck in, friendo, cuz it's 8:30am and I got nothing better to do

An awful lot of bizarre stories make much more sense now that I have a rather vital nugget of cultural context.

This is the four eyed Anableps fish. It evolved to spend time at the surface of the water, and its eyes eventually adapted to see threats from above or below. Each set has its own pupils, and each set has its own adaptations for dealing with refraction and the differences between air and water. The top potions of the eyes for instance have thicker coats to prevent drying out.
It does mean that scrolling through it kinda goes
"Possum nomming fruit"
"Aardwolves chilling in a pile"
"Men's Coats of 17th Century France"
"X Ray of a Viper Eel"
"Possum peeking out of someone's pocket"
"Various flintlock muskets"
"Tiny bat"
I still haven't brought myself to the point of masochism where I'll watch the Blame! animation or the live-action version of Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade
..I have not heard good things, but that draws my morbid curiosity all the further
the commandments, first draft:
1. a human may not injure God or, through inaction, allow God to come to harm
2. a human must obey the orders given to it by God, except where such orders would conflict with the first law
3. a human must protect its own existence, excepting conflict with the first two laws
Oh yeah, I was meaning to ask masto in general... Any recommendations for pill tracking apps for android (ios is ok too, but my ipod bricked itself, so it's not ideal). I need something which can handle meds taken as and when too, 'cos I need some way to keep track of codeine and diazepam so when I get asked how much I usually take, I have a proper answer lol.

I don't care how advanced PHR technology is, calling yr troop carriers "Ganymede" would not do *anything* for your army's morale.
Like, I get the classical naming convention but.. Ganymede? For the big squishy transport ship with next-to-no defences of its own..
"It's so pretty that Zeus himself would send an eagle to swoop down and carry it off."
