I'll probably reread Discipline & Punish and Birth of the Clinic at some point, which are both vgood (both are better introduction points to his core ideas) but they're "Space Opera Doorstop Book" kinda length compared with History of Sexuality, so more of a commitment in terms of ability to invest focus & reading time
I tend to write with "concept/other concept" a lot
I guess as a way of conveying multiple layers of meaning or a single meaning that one English word or phrase won't accurately encompass
I wish there was a way of doing that in phonetic speech..
I've caught myself saying "X slash Y" out loud a few times, but it's way more awkward
sexuality discourse, clownjoke pooptoot
A clown went to a doctor's clinic, sat down and said
"Doctor, I feel like the social stigma, isolation & alienation of various 'kink' experiences has done profound social & psychological harm to myself and so many friends I've lost count."
"You are just appropriating the experiences of queer and trans people." replied the doctor. "Stop doing that, and you will be happy!"
"But doctor!" the clown cried
"I am queer and trans!"
Though to be honest I'm liking having one easy to paint army that just takes to Contrast paints like they were made for it (Seraphon) and one that's intricate swirly armour and a tonne of details
It makes for a good change in.. Painting.. Flavour.. Uh. Paintfeel?

Genuinely spent a while trying to work out how to phrase that without "stupid", but feels like it's tied into that narrative at a very deep level
Think trying to talk about it without engaging with that angle at all would be worse;- The core appeal is pairing a simple story of events with the innate implication that the reader is part of a [rational, calm, mature, intelligent] superior group
[covid, pol, ablism adjacent]
I suspect it's not news to anyone here that the chorus of
"Everyone who isn't me is stupid and greedy!! That's why things are bad!!! Stop hoarding!!!!!!"
That's going around is primarily working as a means of mass self-soothing, rather than an attempt at a workable explanation of the situation we are in.
Nontheless, this still is a good/short article on supply chain dynamics that's worth a read

I have achieved better wristbraces!
Cuz there ought to be more options than "black, medical blue or beige", especially if you're like me and have to wear them a *lot*.
Going to improve on some stuff in later designs (stronger interfacing, lengthen the top strap, widen the main body beneath the thumb opening), but these work and I'm happy with how they turned out!
Frostgrave's core book + co-op/solo materials are currently free! Also resources on how to play it with Lego.
One of my favourite skirmish games, so check it out if dice-rolling wizardbiffs are your thing

re: Warhammer Stuff
Me painting Idoneth "Ughhh 20 infantry is a slog"
Then proceeding to make an army with 60 Skinks in
Thankfully they are cheap (0.5x the cost of the Idoneth troops in points and £) and take to Contrast Paints so well it's scandalous
Whereas the Idoneth are, well.. They're Elves. "Fast to paint" is anathema to them.
This is a graffiti-free zone.
