I have a friend who wants to try out mastodon, but it seems like all of the furry instances are kind of blocked from inviting anyone or creating new accounts right now.

Does anyone know one I can point him to where he can make an account?

@saintajax33 awoo.space is an instance that, unlike most, uses an allowlist instead of a blocklist. You are encountering this error because the account you are attempting to view is on an instance we aren't currently federated with.

This is much less common on other instances, but the result is that you are more likely to be exposed to content that violates your local instance's policies. For most of us here, this is a feature and not a bug, but it's not for everyone.
