No Man's Sky: "you got an upgrade! I hope 10% faster thumb mumbling is a noticeable improvement."
Subnautica: "You got an upgrade! Here, either you now have access to two new biomes, or half of a nuisance task has been automated away."
The latter feels a lot better.

@starkatt Yeah, Subnautica was a goddamn master class in making a new discovery or upgrade feel significant.
In general it's really hard to get me exited about any stat change that's less than 20% in a game if it's not stacking.
