Every once in a while I see people say stuff along the lines of "hey uh, x practice/belief of modern paganism actually only dates back to the 19th or 20th century, it's not ancient received knowledge..."
And I'm like, so what? Cultural contexts change. I'm not a Reconstructionist, and I think Reconstructionism is hella dubious. Use the tools hand, or build new ones to the task. You got this.

@starkatt and I feel there is room for personal spirituality here. The cards *are* associated with Roma, but most of their lore isn’t, and they were never Jewish or Mongolian tools. But they’re my tools and worthy to me.

This especially bugs me when people use this argument to call out tarot, when I get the sense that almost every tarot practitioner I've met knows the general outline of the history and thinks it's a useful tool regardless.
