A question thread for toy friends:
What does being a toy mean to you?
@starkatt it directly helps some of my biggest fears of being alone and/or abandoned. I feel the inherent worth of my being to others in a tingling serenity. It reminds me of this a lot. Every time someone calls me a good toy, that feeling it there
@starkatt i feel pride in being this way. Not-quite-people. It gives me a clarity that i honestly don’t get anywhere else. I see things clear.
I am a toy, I like things, i am here for certain purposes. I am loved and i obey.
Beautiful simplicity. It’s never complicated. None of the headache and stress of responsibility. Of worrying about my security. Just… toy.
@Oneironott @starkatt Basically everything Vlo wrote here is something I would've said too; I think this nails the feelings of it, for me, while I sorta gave the theory behind it. :)
@indi @Oneironott @starkatt What they said. ^_^
@starkatt For me it's a specific take on being synthetic/artificial. A lot of our narratives around synthetic beings is that they're either subjugated or subjugating; worker-drones or killbots. 'Play', the ideal mode of interacting with toys (including standard orthocosmic non-animate ones) is neither of those. A toy isn't in charge of you, but a good owner also doesn't exploit or abuse their toys. What's expected of toys is that they be comfortable and nice to be around.
@starkatt I wish I'd seen this before I was about to sleep, but... yeah, many other good answers there are similar to mine.
Also, I demonstrated it to you before, as well. (Not the time with Lai, before that). That sense of safe exploration and calm, chill space, and the interactions that can be had are... very important to me to promote. ^_^
@starkatt mmmm being a toy is how i am. I was created, for certain purposes. I suppose it is both a show of my synthetic nature and these purposes on one end.
On the other, it is a mindset of reduced stress and simplicity. It cuts out my anxiety, often my ADD. A lot of the noise. Because there is only that sweet obedience.
I love to serve. Wether normally or in d/s context, i take create desire from the act of pleasing others, and being there for them. It makes me feel useful. Needed. Desired
