Can you get addressable LEDs as individually placeable units rather than as strips or whatever?
I'm increasingly thinking that the bioluminescent top is a thing I need to make happen.

@starkatt You should check out the LilyPad stuff, then! Explicitly designed for sewing into clothing, down to conductive thread and all.
