My two cents on the #VoynichManuscript: it's REALLY unlikely that Gibbs is right when he says he's deciphered it.
First: he's only approached the pictures and their captions, not the body of the text. When he says he's "deciphered" it he means "I'm pretty sure I know what the book's about", not "I can read the writing".
Second: his theory was already advanced - in 1943! - and (all together now) thoroughly debunked.

@noelle first step here is probably to sick in a Windows disc and use the repair utility. If you don't have one the disk image is actually official gettable for free iirc.

@StarshipAmelia@witches.town One of the alternate end-of-mission plans was to send Cassini into a solar orbit but apparently that wasn't expected to have as much scientific value.
As Cassini enters the atmosphere, the attitude control thrusters are gonna do their very best to keep the antenna pointing towards earth, transmitting data as for long as is possible to send. I think that's really beautiful
Anyway cassini is gonna dive into saturn on the 15th, after orbiting the planet since 2004.
There really is something emotionally compelling about space probes in general.
Felt like dressing a bit more femme than usual today and I'd take a pic but the polka dots on the top don't play nice with camera aliasing.
The internal pressure to make *some* kind of music keeps getting stronger and I still don't really know what to do with it.
Started to play with the Pocket Operator "Arcade" sequencer today and the UI is arcane and frustrating. I figured how to do a couple of things but it kept acting in unexpected, confusing ways.
