@starkatt
Have you done dear esther? It's light on the gameplay, but I think it's a really poignant piece around struggling with identity and agency.

@starkatt
Me too :D
Okay... That Dragon, Cancer then?
The Beginner's Guide?
Uh... pretty much anything youtube.com/user/Campster/vide has reviewed? XD

Gosh y'all have a lot of really good suggestions and I've already played most of them. Will definitely have to check out some of the others <3

@starkatt oxenfree? I haven't played it yet but it matches your criteria and people say super good stuff about it.

Kentucky Route Zero is awesome and they donated to TransRelief too!!!

Put another way:
If the last three games that I found had a lasting impact were We Know The Devil, Undertale, and Night in the Woods, what should I play next?

"This form of Apocalypse myth will appeal to people with Right-wing values: they present a rough world where only people with Right-wing values are able to survive. [...] Zombie apocalypse stories are a refinement of this genre [...]

"Why does it matter that a genre has such a clean mapping to an ideology? The stories we tell and consume have a feedback loop with our expectations."

@dhole@witches.town Hi! You don't have any posts or a bio and that makes me real nervous. Can you let me know what you're about? Otherwise, tbh, I'm probably gonna softblock you.

Crusader Kings 2 apparently allows you to have spymasters so good even their own plans are a mystery to themselves.

Ahahah. Today I learned that Gone Home canonically exists in the same universe as Bioshock.

Opinion: temperatures greater than 30ºC should be illegal.

BotW endgame music spoilers

There's also the part in the horse riding music where the LttP theme starts playing in the background of the track, just for a moment, so soft and gentle you'll probably miss it.

And, to be clear, the composition is incredible in its own right, not just in terms of musical callbacks.

BotW endgame music spoilers

The composition for the music in Hyrule Castle really is incredible. On the inside, at one point the music very subtly turns to a re-arrangement of the Ocarina of Time music, but in the wrong key and with some of the cords with off notes.

The, outside, the music at one point starts redering the iconic LttP theme in soft violin... for *five* bars before trailing off. It's dang disconcerting.

In a lot of places, BotW is incredibly bright and saturated, but it manages to still always have balance. What really impresses me is how strongly it's able to evoke the look of classic 2D Zelda games just through its use of color.

Replaying Night in the Woods and watching my partner play Breath of the Wild is making me realize how important color palette is for making a game look good. Neither of those games would be anything near as pretty if the colors weren't as well chosen as they are.

I picked up Firewatch on a whim, and it's almost painful how het it is.

...also I have that dread feeling it's going to go in some kind of really gross direction.

I wish either "date" didn't get read as romantic, or there was another word for scheduled one-on-one time with a neat person.

Spotted graffiti, in marker on the back of a parking sign: "there is no invisible force field protecting you and those you love from death".
