Seriously though this game is prompting me to learn more astronomy. I had never heard of T-Tauri or Wolf-Rayet stars and it turns out they're pretty cool!

remembering how as a kid there were these reconstructions of a hypothetical Troodon descendant - which looked a lot like a Gray Alien.
But of course there ARE intelligent, social, tool-using manaraptoran descendants, and they don't look like that, because they're crows and ravens.

Did a bit of research on how ED generates systems. I would have thought that the stars and planets and stuff are just plunked down according to statistical distributions, but apparently it actually models stellar accretion and planetary formation on an individual basis. One consequence of this is way more binary planets than the devs expected!
