The texts I learn most from digesting are ones where I agree with 80% of the author's premises but disagree with 20% of them.

So I finally got around to watching the hour-long Philosophy Tube "philosophy of antifa" video and, yeah, it's pretty good. More nuanced arguments than a lot of what I've seen.

I'm still going on about Monsterhearts

Another thing I appreciate is that after five level ups (usually semi-frequent and incremental changes in ability level), the game says "okay now start working on wrapping up your major plot arcs, and then /seriously go play something else for a while/."

A thing I really appreciate about the game's writing is one tiny piece of copy:

The phrase used is never "earn Experience" or "gain Experience." It's "mark Experience". It's not something you get, it's the result of having gone through a complex situation where you had opportunity to learn something.

Fits in really well with how mechanically, Experience is very often given as a result of failure, not success.

Species that pair especially well with foxes, partial list:

- other foxes (+++++)
- coyotes (dumpster foxes <3)
- dragons, apparently!
- otters probably
- kitties

The alternate mix of "Knowledge" is way better than the album version imo, and one of the tracks brings the often-hard-to-hear backing vocals of "Zookeeper" to the front and it turns out they're pretty cool.

Hey also if you enjoy SOL: a self-banishment ritual, the Talk About Bones EP is definitely worth a listen too seeming.bandcamp.com/album/tal

genderpunk: what happens when you decide to build your own gender, in a cave, from a box of scraps torn off of other genders.

Seriously though if the folks behind this album aren't kin/therian/etc I would be astonished.

Oh well, time to plug in the speakers, put on SOL, grab the pliers and get to work.

Hrm. Home now, which is good. On the other hand my chainmail purse strap broke as I was getting out of the van, so now I gotta repair that on top of other necessary tasks this evening.

I do enjoy that "walking simulator" has been merrily adopted as a genre classifier.

I've said this before but it's worth often repeating: music is some of the closest we can come to experiencing what it feels like to be part of divinity.

This is *why* music is a thing.
