@noiob that was extremely cool
hee. i wonder how much more i'm gonna notice passively now?
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz oh, nah, that wasn't why i thought that was arrogant
it was more because i was telling others that i was better at a thing than others
after i realized that angle, i basically just NOPE NOPE NOPE'd out of that particular train of thought, because that's not what i wanted to do at all
i know it's pretty early to be thinking about this, but i really do care a lot about making good ones
next new year's resolution, maybe?
i'm thinking that maybe my next new year's resolution won't be me attempting to get better at a skill like i usually do--but rather me getting out there more!
basically, my goal would just be becoming more social, and less hesitant to put my stuff out into the public space
i shouldn't need to feel like i'm imposing on others by putting the things i cared enough to make in places where people can actually see them
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz my absolute favorite is definitely planet robobot. it has this techno aesthetic, and the new mechanics are all really, REALLY satisfying!
plus you get to go full mecha
@pandora_parrot it's sooo good!
re: -
@kerplunk@snouts.online hee. glad i could help someone with that!
i've had to navigate burnout before, and thought that i was basically just doomed to ruin the things i liked by coming to rely on them
luckily, it seems like things don't have to be that way–you just have to keep your mental health in mind
the bad part is that overextending is so easy to do when you want to keep up a certain pace for too long
but when you give yourself short time limits, you not only work faster, you also burn out less
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz oof, it's so obvious after re-reading too! i'm just bad at this sometimes i guess
but i really liked older kirby music too! i actually liked rainbow resort from kirby's adventure enough that it was the first thing i ever decided to make an arrangement of
there were some nice sounds on amazing mirror too, the forest area had such a comfy adventure sound to it
my favorite though? has got to be the pseudo-chip style in robobot
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz kirby music is an aesthetic!
but yeah, i sometimes dive into triphop and nu jazz too. i really like melodic piano with chill backgrounds
for example, this triphop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjYsA_wTlg0
i don't really do a lot of classical, but that might just be because i don't know a lot. got recommendations for any kickers?
@noiob i managed to swipe a 400GB micro SD card for $100 the other day
storage prices are so much nicer than even just a year ago

@ShugoWah@snouts.online there's likely ways to be nicer to yourself, and to keep the things you enjoy out of burnout. it's *extremely* worth it to find those things
try things! even if you aren't sure they'll do anything for you. you might be pleasantly surprised!
also, if you're doing fine, you still shouldn't overextend or deviate from the things that keep your mind in good form, because it's a lot nicer to stay in a good space than it is to dig out of a nasty one
anyway, i hope this is helpful..! ^^
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
i also probably like you
