Trying to organise thoughts
@lyncia i decided that i didn't really want to put certain topics on the tl of anyone under 18, even if they were cw'd
so i just decided to mark my entire account 🔞
i hate the idea of being harmful, and i could never feel comfortable not quashing important parts of me if i didn't

i always loved highly multipurpose things--even if they aren't the most efficient way of doing things, just having something available that can be used to macgyver your way out of most things in some capacity just always seemed like a cool idea to me
@bx unfortunately, the gradle plugin for android dev is a nightmare to use without it
i tried very hard to do without it, but they really do want you to use that ide
but, if you're not deterred, you can still grab the cli skdman and use that to install a version of the sdk that will run on your old stuff, and ./gradlew assemble can be your error checking--but you'll need to set the project to use the older sdk
you won't have any code assist or emulators, but it will work otherwise!

that sounds like it would be a bit of a project, though i guess less of one if you're starting with something for android 5 rather than the newer releases
it's fun how writing a blog that can literally only be seen by people with ssh access to the same box i'm on can make it so much easier to not edit the things i write until i'm absolutely exhausted and don't want to write anymore
it really lowers the barrier to actually write things for me
