@noiob gosh yeah. even with backups!
i always hesitate before doing it, even if that was preceded by all the selects i needed to be totally sure that i'm doing the right thing
@noiob this is cuteeee
kink, project
so, i hacked it together in ruby. now i just need to see if others like the idea!
kink, project idea
it's always cool to find spaces that are kink-positive, but now i'm wondering about a way to make something that can help others feel better about opening up
so i think i might make a little thing called tmyk, or "tell me your kink" where people can post either with or without usernames and explain the things they like, talk about why they like them, and browse things other people posted~
i wonder if that could catch on?
@monorail tbh, i think a lot of music that became memes are actually real bangers
mortality morality, hot take
it's also okay to not feel conflicted about bad things happening to bad people, since it's true that the world would be a better place without them
but it's also okay to feel conflicted about wishing someone would die--since it means we are also okay with dehumanizing people after a certain margin
you don't always need to be 100% unambiguous about things like this, and i don't think it's a moral failing to feel uncomfortable
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz yep! i mean, i only recently learned about the startup profiler, or the ability to even measure the time it takes for things to start when you turn your computer on a few months ago! (it's not very easy to find or install the tools to do that, mind you, even if they are from ms)
and it was even more recently then that where i stopped ignoring the task scheduler altogether
i only started learning things when i tried to make emolga extremely light and stable with WSL, and little else
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz hee, me neither! the things i can't actually replace are pretty small overall
i actually use wsl to rsync my home folder to an external drive, and it's not even close to big enough for me to worry about upgrading that any time soon
i know someone who actually clones their entire main hard drive to an external one so they can boot into a working windows version with their stuff if things go south on their main disk
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz also, that event viewer filter is just a nice thing to have in general too. i occasionally check it, because sometime things break in subtle ways--and fixing them can do wonders for system stability
in fact, i don't have many things in my event viewer at all with that view (though i think that reset since my last OS update)
i bring this up because it can save a lot of headache if this ends up being the first place you look if something inexplicable starts happening
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz my line of reasoning is
so i'm pretty sure a lot of these things would go away with another drive
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
i also probably like you
