the sheer amount of effort i put into getting things to work with my pebble, and the lengths i go to get weird linuxy things working on my phone, i feel like i'm pretty much exactly the target audience for pine64

i do have a changes.txt file, and a tricks.txt specifically for the nifty little things i find (and do) with the system, but pretty much the entire thing has just become an extremely lo-fi personal writing box

it's weird how it feels even more lo-fi than living in a cli to me (though to me, that will always be a pretty rad aesthetic as well)

i love how neat it feels journalling on a tiny plan 9 pi

it's never been connected to the internet, and i haven't even set the date on it, but i've probably written many thousands of words on it so far

i'm pretty confident i can pull this off, but it's also a lot to add to the things i'm already juggling, and the prospect of slipping up is still really intimidating

i've already planned ways to make sure everything is fine in basically every outcome, but the idea of not accounting for something in a literal ocean of horrible results is also eating at me like nothing else

which is why i need to just find ways to not psyche myself out so much--to remind myself that i've got this

that was pretty vague, but i've been playing the world's most emotionally draining game of flappy bird with my means

the reason it's draining is because there are several people who depend on me not failing, because if i go down, they would too--and that is 2000% the worst outcome

like, if it was just me who would go down, that would be great

and while i accept this responsibility, the source of my ability to help is getting nebulous, and i might have to find other means to not fail

overwhelmed, but with a plan; just gotta remember one step ahead of the other

i just drag and drop art into a timeline, and it just appears on anything i have that embedded--it even has a graceful fallback if you don't have javascript enabled! (something i want to not depend on as much as possible on my stuff)

if there's something i actually think birdsite does pretty okay, it's letting me embed things into my static site, so i don't need to update a page every time i draw something to have a gallery

otherwise, there's just no way i wouldn't be too lazy to have a gallery on my sites

for reals though, my favorite type of code writing is...doing the opposite of that actually!

if my commits have more deletions than additions, i usually feel pretty good about that

git protip: sign your commits; cryptographically prove your mistakes!
