I'm getting almost no toots on my home timeline, and I've got no idea why. Like, 90+% of the activity of people I'm following is missing. :( Anybody out there know if there's an active bug on this?

@timber did you accidentally put something in your regex filter? That's a very common thing that can happen. awoo.space/media/nll1jrcd7kk1O

@vahnj Thanks - that's probably not it, that field is blank. It looks a bit like this issue, but as far as I can tell, they're just missing, not delayed: github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/

@timber I'm not sure this is related or not, I'll have to dig into this some time

@vahnj Thanks, I'll poke at it from the client side if I have time. FYI, github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/ also looks relevant to the behavior.

@timber lemme try restarting the streaming server for you and see if this helps you at all btw

@vahnj It looks promising, I'm seeing boosted toots where I wasn't before. I'll keep an eye on it - thank you very much!

@timber great!!! lemme know if you ever see the problem again i can restart the streaming server any time usually

@noiob can help with this too now that we know how to mitigate it

@vahnj @noiob Argh, sorry, bad news - it looks like it's still happening. I logged off for the afternoon, and my home timeline was completely empty when I came back. Doesn't seem to be a client issue - it's empty on FF & Chromium on Ubuntu, and Amarok on iOS.

@timber @vahnj hm, i restarted the streaming service, but other than that I can't really help you right now, sorry

@noiob @vahnj No worries, it's been happening since I signed up. Apparently it's happening @rowanyote as well, so it's not just me. We're seeing the same thing - one or two posts occasionally on Home, and sometimes a bunch, but they usually disappear quickly. She's tried multiple clients as well. I think we both signed up around the same time.

@timber @rowanyote @noiob that's weird. I wonder if it's a client problem, but you say it's been happening since you joined, which was before we moved to glitch social. I'm going to have to look into some code at some point.

@vahnj @noiob @timber I have tried 3 different Android clients, and have had the same issue. I really want to stay on awoo as I like the local group community. 😥

@rowanyote @timber @noiob yea there is definitely a streaming server problem then v_v

@noiob @timber @rowanyote ok I've got an ask for y'all:

1. Launch Google Chrome on a desktop
2. Go to awoo.space
3. Open the developer tools console from the ... menu
4. Make sure it's on the "Console" tab
5. Refresh awoo.space

Let me know if you get any errors!

@vahnj @timber @noiob I am not finding any ... menu or developer tools in any of the submenus when logged in through chrome.

@rowanyote @noiob @timber In the top right hand corner, it's a vertical 3 dots. The submenu there should be either "Tools", "More Tools", or "Developer Tools"

Show newer

@vahnj @timber @noiob
Ah! Found it. Done. I have a few link preload errors, but that is all

@vahnj @rowanyote @noiob I'm getting the same resource errors, specifically "The resource {} was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window's load event". All of the URLs are glitch async JS URLs (awoo.space/packs/flavours/glit), for notifications, home timeline, compose, and getting started. No other errors on the console.

@PaulFerence Yes. github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/ appears similar, but they're missing, not delayed. github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/ might be it, and is still open with recent activity. I haven't had time to read that bug in-depth and try to diagnose the issue, but it happens on both FF and Chrome for me, so I'm not sure that I could do much client-side to fix it. I was hoping it was an account setting I needed to change.
