actually, there are millions of wolves outside you. despite a decline in populations up to about the 1970s or so, successful conservation efforts and captive breeding programs mean that the gray wolf is now a Least Concern species

correction: the last estimate of global wolf population was around 300,000 in 2003. it may have sprung to over a million by then but i don't know for sure
