i wanna see a hidden-role game where there are no pre-assigned roles, just perverse incentives that might make some players decide to turn traitor on their own
@typhlosion honestly i like this idea, a game that offers incentives to sow distrust as opposed to them being there from the start. it creates a more "there can be only one winner" atmosphere and emphasizes individual rather than group mob mentality play
@typhlosion (hi i really like social deduction games apologies for my rambling)
@Proxy i mean, folks who like this genre of game are exactly the kind of folks i wanted to give this idea to, ha
@typhlosion it's an interesting concept and one that i wanna think about if i were to ever make my own original social deduction game; there *needs* to be an incentive to go against the group, and an inherent risk/reward, but also the structure of the game would probably need to be retrofitted to not allow for a "team win"
@typhlosion thing is, usually playing as the traitor is more fun so if you can choose for yourself everyone's gonna be traitor
@noiob i'm sure in the realm of video games there's some kind of negative feedback system you could implement that disincentivizes that sort of thing
@typhlosion pretty sure that might be eve online
@typhlosion this is just Risk lmao
i don't know what that would look like though
