That said, my only criteria for blacklisting the sites that we do literally boils down to "these people have harassed others in the past and the admins have did nothing to stop it, or actively encouraged it".
If you think that's dangerous just because "it sets a precedent" for abuse in other ways- which I totally understand now that I've thought about it enough- I feel you've decided you really don't care about the position we're in in our space.
@vahnj As someone who has followed the GNUSocial-based services since its Laconica days, your blacklist/whitelist stance is far safer and kinder than the instances I've been a part of in the past.
Just from that stance alone, I trust your judgement more than the admins of the past.

I'm gonna check out now. I love what everyone has done with Mastodon, and I'm very happy to be here. I hope we can stop fighting over this soon so we can get back to building the platform.
