@vahnj I doodled a kobold dragoon years back, and he's never stopped being a good sketch to pull up again :3 https://awoo.space/media/t3pQppfM8-Ank13Rga4
@Draekos AIIIEEEEEEEE I LOVE THEM
@vahnj :D I found Siva too! I thought I'd lost this file.
<_< Nothing like giving monsters rideby mawlings for stupidly high damage rolls. DM said we could make broken characters. Campaign involved a monk who could roll to ignored damage. Infinitely. INFINITELY.

@IrisKalmia @Draekos @vahnj
I mean captain america (pathfinder shield brawler build) is pretty bad :3
Not as bad as a /wizard/ but still.
@Irick @IrisKalmia @Draekos one of my favorite builds is a ninja/monk hybrid- you can throw something like 18 shurikens at level 20
it doesn't sound that scary but if you use some form of wish to wish for a permanently poisoned returning shuriken that does con damage............
@typhlosion @Irick @IrisKalmia @Draekos that's a big reason i love pathfinder- there's some ridiculous stuff you can do with it, and because of that it supports a really huge variety of power levels of gameplay
@vahnj @Irick @IrisKalmia @Draekos pathfinder where you're not allowed to use the advanced race guide is pathfinder i don't want to play
@Draekos @IrisKalmia @Irick @vahnj though honestly i hate that they say in the race guide that kobolds are all evil or neutral >:1 i wanna be a goodbold
@typhlosion @Irick @IrisKalmia @Draekos kobolds are what the GM chooses them to be
there are a ton of badbolds out there, but everyone uses that as an excuse to snuff out the good ones~
@Draekos @IrisKalmia @Irick @typhlosion @vahnj It's probably not even "lots of badbolds." It's anthropocentric morality that deliberately conflates "good" with "lawful" to provide a steady stream of heretics that can be justifiably taxed and exploited. Kobolds are like any other race, 'cept they know their gods, as in "have met, seen, and in a few cases, touched them." What elf or human dare claim that?
"Badbolds," pfeh. Goodbolds until proven otherwise. That's justice.
@vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia @typhlosion
PC kobolds are legit one of my criteria for evaluating any fantasy RPG.
@Irick @Draekos @IrisKalmia @typhlosion this is why i haven't pushed any of my groups to play Shadowrun very heavily- kobolds are NOT what they should be
@vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia @typhlosion
I just don't like shadowrun because it ruins Cyberpunk for me to have straight up magic :P
*thumps his copy of Cyberpunk 2020*
@Irick @Draekos @IrisKalmia @typhlosion I've played both - they're both real good Cyberpunk for different reasons
@vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia @typhlosion
Eh. I more consider Shadowrun Urban Fantasy that started adopting some of the tropes of cyberpunk. I realise that seems pedantic, but I don't really like the hoops you have to jump through conceptually to mix Fantasy derived genres with SciFi derived.
@Irick @vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia they're all genre fiction anyway - there's a reason "SFF" is lumped together so often
@typhlosion @vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia
Yeah, because Accademia hated its existence :P It's not like we lump Charles Dickens in with the Horror Penny Dreadfuls.
@Irick @vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia i wouldn't call Charles Dickens genre fiction
@typhlosion @vahnj @Draekos @IrisKalmia
That's because genre fiction is a term that was recently invented to categories 'things that originated in pulp magazines'. My point is that Charles Dickens wrote his stories in the victorian equivalent of pulp magazines and actually took a very long time to be recognized as literarily worthwhile. They also lumped him in with the "Penny Dreadfuls"
@vahnj @typhlosion @IrisKalmia @Draekos
This.
But it also fixed things that bothered me about 3.5 and generally has kept the splat under control.
@Draekos @IrisKalmia @Irick @typhlosion also kobolds
