It would have been equivalent to have called him a narcissistic fuckhead
It was made recently and the show was very visibly critiqued for its homophobic problems in the first season
For all I know now the creators are themselves homophobic
That doesn't mean the show is bad but it does mean the duffer brothers are assholes, to me
